2011 Event Day Information

The NYC Volkswagen Traffic Jam took place on August 13, 2011. Click here to see the winners for 2011 and 2010.

  • SPECTATOR JUDGING: Explore show cars of all stripes lined up along the stunning southwest rim of the island, then vote on your favorites. Judging results announced at 2:30PM.

  • KID ZONE in the afternoon hours, featuring a "Punch Buggy" scavenger hunt and other activities with a VW twist.

    • Landmark Bicycles PICNICKING ON THE LAWN: Enjoy the 5-acre lawn of Picnic Point. Either bring your own lunches and snacks or pick up food and drink from our show vendors. (Sorry, Governors Island doesn't allow barbecuing or BYO alcohol.)

  • New York Stand Up Paddleboard RAFFLE: Entrants can win a vintage bicycle worth $400 from East Village/Williamsburg shop Landmark Bicycles, a stand-up paddleboard lesson for two given by New York Stand Up Paddleboard in Far Rockaway, or four tickets to the American Museum of Natural History.   • MUSIC: Deejays spin all day long. Three sets: Jazz/Soul/Boogaloo by DJ Turmix, who has performed at Jazz Lincoln Center, Midsummer Night Swing, and Turntables on the Hudson, plus classic rock by Toronto's DJ LazyBoy and a latin set from NYC's Edgar Jalarza.
